How to Make Soy Candles

Materials

soy wax flakes candle jars or tins fragrance oil cotton wicks

1. Melt Wax

Measure soy wax flakes into a glass measuring cup and microwave in 1-minute intervals, stirring often.

2. Add Fragrance Oil

Add the fragrance oil and stir well.

3. Secure Wicks

Use a hot glue gun to attach the wicks to the bottom of the candle container.

4. Center Wicks

Place a wick-centering device over each wick to keep it in place.

5. First Pour

Carefully pour the wax into the container, leaving about 1/2 inch at the top. Let it cool completely. This will take several hours, depending on the size of the candle.

6. Second Pour

Re-heat the remaining wax in the microwave and pour another layer of wax over the top of the candle.

7. Trim the Wick

Use a pair of sharp scissors to trim the wick.
