The Best Candle Fragrance Oils for Fall
An unsponsored list of the best Fall fragrance oils for candles and wax melts that actually smell good, after testing hundreds of oils!
Fall Candle Fragrance Oils
Autumn scents are an important part of the Fall experience, from pumpkin spice to cinnamon & clove, to apples & chai tea. I test several new Fall fragrances each year and add them to this list. And of course a few of these scents will carry you right through Christmas time too! If you’re looking for more fragrances that aren’t Fall-specific, you can find a list of my favorites here. And here’s a list of Christmas fragrance oils.
I’ve been on a multi-year quest to find the very best candle fragrance oils for my homemade scented candles, ever since I bought some really awful ones for my very first candle project. My goal is to save you a lot of heartache and hassle and point you directly to the best high-quality Fall fragrances for candles that have great scent throw (that’s candle-speak for how much scent they give off) and that actually smell good!
In all my research and testing I’ve found a few companies that consistently make great fragrance oils. But this post is not sponsored and no one is paying me to recommend these products. That said, I do earn a very small commission at no additional cost to you if you purchase products through the links below. This allows me to support my family and continue creating content like this. Thanks for your support!
Pumpkin Fragrance Oils
Pumpkin & Persimmon
From Makesy (formerly The Wooden Wick Co.) This is the best pumpkin spice fragrance I’ve found. And trust me, I’ve tried A LOT of them! Here’s my recipe for DIY Pumpkin Spice Wax Melts.
Pumpkin Harvest
From Nature’s Oil This is another nice pumpkin spice-type fragrance, and you can get this one from Amazon.
Here’s the tutorial for the Fall scented candle below using Pumpkin Harvest.
Country Bumpkin
From Candle Lynn Another great all-around pumpkin spice type scent. I used it to make these Fall mason jar candles. I’ve been really impressed with all the scents I’ve tested from this company.
Toasted Marshmallow & Pumpkin Brulee
from Makesy You can find the tutorial for these easy pumpkin scented soy candles here.
Apple Spice Fragrance Oils
Apple Rind & Cinnamon
From Makesy (formerly The Wooden Wick Co.) This one is a lovely classic apple cider scent!
Baked Apple & Mulled Spice
Fall Spice Fragrances
Spiced Pear & Whiskey
From Makesy (formerly The Wooden Wick Co.) This is probably my very favorite Fall scent. You can see it in this scented soy candle tutorial. This one would be great for Christmas too!
Raw Cinnamon & Clove
Wizard’s Brew
From Pepper Jane’s This fun butterscotch fragrance smells just like butterbeer from Harry Potter!
Maple Chai & Sweet Cream
From Makesy (formerly The Wooden Wick Co.) This one reminds me of something sweet and freshly baked.
Autumn Leaves
Scarecrow Jamboree
Fragrance Oil for Beeswax Candles
Bee Balm & Coco de Mer
From Makesy This isn’t a traditional Autumn fragrance, but I think it fits right in. Unbleached (yellow) beeswax has its own natural scent, so people often make beeswax candles without adding any fragrance oil. But this amazing oil enhances the beeswax fragrance! Here’s my tutorial for beeswax candles and heres a tutorial for beeswax wax melts using Bee Balm & Coco de Mer.
